Panos Panousis was born in Preveza. He studied at the ECOLE DE BEAUX ARTES in the department of GRENOMBLE, with a very important contemporary painter, Charles La Schalle.
Together with Jean Michel Decayer, Francisko De Vaglio and Jean Morau La Tour, he is the initiator of a different concept of art, that of space-time surrealism.
His works are held in private collections around the world.
Some of the exhibitions he has taken part in:
1996: Megaron Logos y Art, Patras, Greece.
“CONFRONTATION OF EROTIC VIRGINITY AND MORBID ILLNESS”.
1997: Gallerie Solleil, Grenomble
“UNIVERSAL MIND”
1998: Gallery Estrellas, Figueras
“DREAMED PORTRAITS”
1999: Gallerie Solleil, Grenomble
“HEROES WORK” (ACTION D’ HEROS)
“Panos Panousis’ painting is the geostratigics of a dream topography, the Navigation on the invisible side of space. According to him, the people who paint are dreamers, carriers of dream moments. His art is an aesthetic adventure in space-time. Space is intertwined with time, but time is a myth. His works are inner-sensory adventures outside of time, in alternative ideal spaces of the private universe that exists within every human being.
This private universe is bordered by an “inscrutable” external universe, to which, for unknown reasons, the factor “TIME” is added, of which only a small part is observed in our conventional daily reality. The private universes of humans as a whole, create an alternative cosmology, “the Fairy Tales of the World”, the world that “could be” but “is not”.
Observing his work over time, I find that Panos Panousis is a dreamer, who uses artifice to show a different, -perhaps alien to us- perception of the surrounding world. But the color he uses to paint seems to be diluted with something that has a lot of reality in it, and that is what saves him in the end.”
