Biography
Born in 1909 in Athens. From a young age he showed his exceptional talent for painting and at the age of 16 he was accepted at the Athens School of Fine Arts. His teachers were the great painters of the time, such as the famous Georgios Iakovidis. He graduated from the School with honors and later, he studied under the painter Hector Doukas, who considered him a painter of great merit. He took part in many group exhibitions as well as in two Panhellenic exhibitions. He has also exhibited his works in several solo exhibitions, the last of which was in 1982. His paintings can be found in various collections in America, Germany, France, England, Sweden and Greece. In his painting he cultivates a subliminalism with a strong personal stamp. He is considered a painter of Attica, who has walked around it inch by inch and has transmuted the beauty of its landscapes in visual terms. He has painted the peculiar chapels, rustic houses, old towers and castles of the region. At the same time, his landscape paintings are inspired by other interesting places in Greece. His subjects include still lifes and images of the Attic landscape. In his work he uses strong expressionistic types.
